From the Desk of the Volunteer Coordinator

“Very little is needed to make a happy life. It is all within yourself, in your way of
thinking.”
- Marcus Aurelius

Kudos to Stop ‘N Shop’s extraordinary volunteer team! The thrift store’s income for 2012 was $165,000.00. How great is that?

Stop ‘N Shop receives items donated from the Center’s members and the West Seattle community. Items are sold in the store and the money from the sales helps with the day-today operations of the Center. Stop ‘N Shop is open seven days a week.

On behalf of Aylene, store manager, and the Center’s staff, we thank the following dedicated volunteers for making our bottom line look good. Each member of the team is responsible for different jobs in the store – cashiering, pricing, sorting, assisting customers, accepting donations and decorating different locations in the store and building. And, they all love what they do. Elizabeth B., Donita, Chuck, Jason, Carlene, Drew, Caroline, Anita, Ted, Heather, Al, Jill J., Daniel, Zey, Liz, Jill M., Desiree, Lynne, Noreen, Mike, Elizabeth P., Pat, Myrna Loy, Doug, Gary and Fran. You guys are all awesome!

We continue to need Volunteers in our new Out Reach Program, The Café, Janitorial/Maintenance, Kitchen, Stop ‘N Shop, Front Desk Receptionist, Meals on Wheels, and evening functions. Contact Margie if you are interested – 206-932-4044 X8 or margiew@seniorservices.org. Training is available for all positions.

Be Well and Happy!
