From the Desk of the Volunteer Coordinator

“The human spirit needs places where nature has not been rearranged by the hand of man,”         Anonymous

“Another year over – A new one just begun!”  Health and happiness to you  in 2012.

A special thank you to Olav Esaiassen, Eleanor Geoffrion, Debra Tweedy and Kay Horton  for their coffee,  cookies, and paper products  donations to the Café and Kitchen.

Starting in February 2012, the Center will be preparing ‘from scratch meals” for the coming  year.  Gay will be buying and preparing all meals from our kitchen.  With this change, we will be looking for volunteers to help Gay in the kitchen. So, if you love to cook ,and are interested in volunteering in the kitchen we will need help doing prep work, setting tables, dishing up and serving our Seniors during the lunch program.  We hope to get more seniors and members of our community to participate in our lunch program with a real home cooked meal.

Other Volunteer opportunities are also available.  Front  Desk Receptionists, Café Barista, Kitchen Assistants, and Janitorial .  Contact Margie if you are interested – 206-932-4044 X8 or margiew@seniorservices.org.  Training is available for all positions.

Remember – the Center could not provide its members and the West Seattle community with the various activities and classes without the help of our Volunteers.

Be Well and Happy!
